The President of the middle eastern country is Anil Kapoor, from Slumdog Millionaire.

Most of the season is supposed to happen in New York, according to rumors. And it's been said that it will be set approximately 6 weeks after Season 7.

Yeah. I was wondering when, or even if, we would ever find out what those "pretty bad things" were. Sounds like we'll find out soon.

"...is this the BIG tie-in into season 1? tony's a better mole than nina? are they even going to suggest he's been a bad guy since Day 1? now, that would be surprising... and totally disintegrate the concept of Almeidaism and disappoint every drop of fandom in me.... "

I was just responding to that comment and trying to clarify things a bit for everyone, (including me). This whole thing is just such a shock - It's just not something that Tony would do! I just can't imagine Tony killing thousands, maybe millions, of people. It's just so out of character for him. I couldn't sleep at all on Monday night because of the Tony's betrayal.

He definitely has NOT been a mole since Day One. I think that he became evil after Day Five (when he had lost EVERYTHING and, eventually, his life), which is what he said at the beginning of this season when he had to explain to Jack that he was undercover with Emerson's crew. I think that he never really turned good again at the beginning of this season and that he has been evil since being resurrected by Emerson and his crew. So I think Tony has only really changed once, and that he faked being on Jack's side for most of this season because he wanted to go undercover with the FBI and quasi-CTU (Jack included). He's really working for Starkwood and Hodges.

One thing I don't understand: Since Tony is evil, why would he detonate all of the bioweapon with the rocket fuel? He was the only FBI agent at Starkwood at that time, so he didn't have to appear to be on the FBI's side. He could have just refused to destroy the bioweapon and helped Starkwood launch the missiles. Why did he feel the need to destroy Starkwood's only major asset (so far as we know at least) and chase after the black operative with Moss? Couldn't he have simply stayed with the scientists at Starkwood?

#5 Re: Current 24 Debriefs » how does season 7 match up? » 2009-04-02 00:08:54

At the moment, my list reads:

One
Three
Seven
Five
Two
Four
Six

I actually like Three a lot, mostly because of Stephen Saunders (one of the few non-stererotypical villains, and a great one at that) and Jack's relationships throughout. The situation between Jack, Kim, and Chase was interesting, as well as the way the Salazars interacted with each other and with Jack. I think it also had to do with the weapon itself. I find that bioweapons are more interesting than nukes for some reason.

That site logs every single kill that can be confirmed to have been "scored" by Jack, as well as the weapon that he killed them with, the episode, name of the person, etc. You can also watch videos of each kill and view photos of the entire incident.

It's a great site, although I still can't find the total kills on there.

I agreed with everything that you said. I really couldn't have put it any better.

I still don't understand why Jack would allow the President of the United States, to whom he has a sworn duty to protect, to walk into a room filled with people who are absolutely going to kill her. It just doesn't seem like something that Jack would do.

And while I enjoyed these episodes and thought they were the best of this season so far, I thought it was a little unrealistic that a small army was able to scuba dive into the WH. It was just like in Season 6, where the Chinese crawled into CTU through the sewer system. Neither of these were very realistic or even possible, but they were damn entertaining!

Overall, my favorite episodes in quite a while (probably since the beginning of this season, or even longer!). I need a 24 fix, and I can't wait until Monday!

I think that it was way too obvious that Sean was the mole, although I was somewhat surprised to find out about the other mole (whose name I won't say because I don't want to risk ruining anything for any of you across The Pond over there).

My current theory is that there are multiple groups of moles, probably another group within the FBI, who aren't in direct contact with one another (like the Araz family in S4). The writers made it too obvious that Sean was the mole from the season premiere. I think there must be at least one more within the FBI.

Especially because Aaron wasn't expecting to be called in to help. He no longer works for Secret Service, so he's just a normal civilian. I'm sure he wasn't waiting by the phone in a suit, with his badge in hand, ready to do whatever Bill needed him to do.

I think Bill said that he had someone in mind just before the commercial break, and Aaron appeared right after it. I'm not sure, though.

Yeah, I was really happy about Aaron, but I wonder what happened to him in between seasons. Last time we saw him, he was married to Martha Logan. Did they move to DC?

Since no one has started this discussion yet either, I thought I would.

It seems that the current plot is drawing to a close. Jack has recovered the CIP device, rescued most of First Gentleman Taylor, and Dubaku is on the run. Granted, we still don't know whether or not the FG will survive or if Jack and Renee can catch Dubaku, but this plot line is done for the most part. I'm sure that the writers will have something great in store for the rest of the season.

Did anyone notice that, when Jack and Renee were in the basement of Dubaku's safehouse (where FG Taylor was held), Renee said, "I can't get it to boot!" when she was standing over a laptop? The screen on the laptop showed the desktop, icons, a mouse icon, etc. It was perfectly fine.

When my best friend told me that I had to start watching 24, I wasn't sure if it was worth watching. He convinced me to watch the first couple of episodes (from the first season that he had on DVD) at his house and decide then whether I wanted to watch all of the episodes or not. As soon as I saw that first clock, I was hooked. We spent the next 9 months watching all 168 episodes (up until Season 7). Each week, he would give me a disc (with 4 episodes) and we would discuss every episode that we couldn't find time to watch together. Almost every free hour of my time was consumed with 24 for the better part of a year. It was worth every moment of it.

24 is my favorite show on television, and it is the only one that I absolutely cannot DVR to watch the next day. I have to watch it live, usually with several conversations going on AIM and phone calls after episodes.

My favorite seasons so far are probably 3, 1, and 4 (in that order). Favorite villain: Stephen Saunders. Favorite Hero: Jack, followed closely by Tony
