Blu Ray won... have you started your collection?

I have already started my Blu Ray collection but currently only have 3 Blu Rays, I'm waiting for some awesome older movies to be re-released on Blu Ray such as the Matrix trilogy.

What about you... so you have a collection yet? or plan to have one soon?

I probably won't start until I leave uni, so many other things I have to spend money on at the moment.

That's cool, they'll be around for a while now that HD-DVD is out of the matter, but seriously you should get a few to check out what all the fuss is about, there is honestly a huge difference.

The problem is the initial costs, a blu-ray player and a high-def TV, I have been sampling high-def of sorts via my laptop, which has a screen which you would probably consider the lower end of HD, and getting HD video example from the Apple movie trailer site >> apple.com/trailers

The difference can be quite noticable.

Basically if you do ever want to enter the Blu Ray era I highly suggest that you get yourself a Sony PlayStation 3, they are a top of the range Blu Ray player and are also the cheapest at the moment.

I use a ps3, its the most versatile blu ray player and it will always be updated. For example with a recent update the ps3 now remembers where a movie was even when the disc is ejected or the ps3 is turned off. And the other advantage is that its not like a games machine, its more of an entertainment system, combine it with the remote which is about £15 and you have a very versatile blu ray player. So far i only have 3 blu ray discs, 2 of which i got with the ps3.

- Casino Royale
- Spiderman 3
- Pirates of the Carribean - At Worlds End

It also got another update recently which "improved Blu-Ray disc sound" as well as adding the much better PlayStation Store, updates are always a good thing... also if you have a Blu-Ray PlayStation 3 remote control could you tell me if it's worth buying as I do use my PlayStation 3 to watch many movies and T.V. shows (inlcuding 24) on DVD's and Blu-Ray's and I was thinking of buying the remote control.

yeah buying the remote control is worth it, its bluetooth like the controller and doesn't need to be pointed at the machine like an infrared equivalent.

I bought 2 more blu rays recently:

The Lake House
Superman Returns

and I am Legend tommorow tongue
