#1 Re: TV (except 24), Movies and Music » Battlestar Galactica - Final Season » 2009-04-17 23:24:03

I watched the pilot the other day, it was pretty. It definitely has alot of potential. Its interesting from the stand point of going back and seeing how everything started. The last 15 - 20 minutes were excellent.

I'll talk more about it once you've seen it.

#2 Re: TV (except 24), Movies and Music » Battlestar Galactica - Final Season » 2009-04-16 23:00:51

Hey Dan and Steve, just started on BSG and I've finished Season 1, really enjoying it so far.

I just wanted to know if either of you guys had seen the Pilot episode for Caprica yet?

#3 Re: No Rules - Enter at your own risk! » New S7 Trailer » 2008-11-01 00:36:04

I checked out the trailer due to the truely amazing skills of J_A who got around the limits of my dial up tongue

I think the trailer looks amazing. The Tony/Jack scenes at the end look really good, especially the line he says as he throws tony against the wall, I couldn't help but suppress a grin and a huge jolt of excitement! Chloe's awesome "No, I'm a stay at home mum!" Made me laugh. The music for the trailer was kick ass as well. I'm even more interested in seeing how the season pans out now!

I'm a little concerned that Tony is only being brought back to be killed off again, and by what we've been given in the trailer it certain looks that way. Unless he's deep undercover and jack is helping him with his deep undercover by pretending to hurt him? That seems like a stretch though. I'm just hoping Tony is undercover and he isn't going to be killed again.

All in all though, the trailer looks excellent! Can't wait for the new season.

Haven't had a chance to watch it yet since my comp/internet connection doesn't like youtube. Looking for a copy I don't have to stream so I Can watch it, when I find one I'll post my thoughts.

#5 Re: TV (except 24), Movies and Music » What are your favourite movies of all time? » 2008-10-30 21:26:36

I think I read a little bit about what the movies storyline was. Though I can't really remember. I'll have to look it up and check again. I was thinking about going to check out Kiefers new movie but I've heard a lot of mixed reviews.

#6 Re: TV (except 24), Movies and Music » The West Wing » 2008-10-30 21:25:24

Ohhh J_A you should! It's definitely worth it! big_smile Especially at that price. I think we paid something like $90 for ours.

SteveB: Yeah I read that somewhere. They're saying the entire election this year has been imitating the west wing. But it was stated somewhere by the writers that Santos was based of Barrack if I recall correctly. Hopefully the current election keeps following the west wing!
Did you know in the original script of election day the santos team was actually meant to lose? They changed the script because they felt that it'd be too dark an episode and taxing on the views with Leo's death. Though in some other places it says that Santos was always going to win even in the original script.
There were a few new character applications up today so it's starting to pick up. I think it'll take a bit to get started out but after that it'll be great. I've seen a few people from on here on their but as yet no posts or anything, like you said.

Okay, just got around to finish season 6 and 7 a few weeks ago. Absouletely amazing. I think it was a really really really good way to wrap up the show. Election day part 1 and 2 were excellent. The space shuttle story arc was really good as well, especially the way it initially established C.J.

I think they were both excellent seasons, but I think there was clearly a door their for the show to continue on, and it really should have.

The Vinick/Santos stuff was just amazing the whole way through.

And Leo's heart attack at the start of season 6 was exactly what SteveB said, pretty damn frightening to watch. Spencer and Whitford had some truely excellent performances especially in the last few seasons.

#12 Re: Computers, Video Games etc. » Metal Gear Solid 4 Discussion » 2008-10-29 13:45:57

I've read alot about it, haven't actually had a chance to play it yet since I lack the ps3 but it sounds amazing. Apparently there's going to be a Live Action Film based partially of MGS.

The ps1 isn't actually the orignal. There's 3 other games before that, but only two of them contribute to the storyline.

Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Metal Gear : Snakes revenge (doesn't add to storyline)

I had copies of them at one point. Very cool.

There was a really cool  web comic for metal gear solid actually. Last Days Of Foxhound. It was meant as a joke but it actually established the storyline for the later games and was really cool. I loved it because it was able to make jokes but stick to the core storyline later in it.

The link for it is www.gigaville.com

Really awesome.

After a very extended hiatus, hey again to everyone. Forums sure have seemed to have picked up since the last time I was here after the move to the new boards.

#21 Re: TV (except 24), Movies and Music » Scrubs » 2007-04-19 08:27:59

Yeah that was a good episode Dan, love the janitor.

Love Dr. Cox though he's brilliant. I'm rewatching season 2 at the moment, I'm about five or six episodes into. Great first episode for season 2.

Mono - Yearning

From the You Are There album, great track.

P.S I have posted in the past couple of days because I've been having comp troubles, I'm up and running again now but I won't get a chance to do some decent posting until tonight.

#24 Re: TV (except 24), Movies and Music » The West Wing » 2007-04-16 20:24:25

That was a brillaint episode! The ending sequence was amazing. One of the best season finale's ever. I liked the season 5 finale as well, the last few moments with Barlet and Leo having their fight and Barlet walking out into the stadium, watching that just made me think "Wow what is going to happen next season?" And Donna! sad I can't believe what happened to Donna, and just when I thought she was going to be alright, the season 5 finale comes into play.

It's great though.

Another episode that enjoyed was one of the season 2 one's can't remember the episode title at the moment but it was when Josh saw the psychitrist about the shooting in the season 1 finale. Great episode. Also the very end of season 4 and the start of season 5, they were some great episodes.

I'll have to do up a list at some point and post it on here for you Dan smile

#25 Re: The Archives of 24 » Your favourite scene from Seasons 1-4 » 2007-04-16 20:17:55

My favourite scene from season 1 -5?

It would be season 5 episode 24, The Jack\Logan conversation. The conversation he has with Logan, and the way Keifer plays the part really burnt it into my mind and just made it one of my favourite scene's.
Mr Logan I'm not going to torture you. But you're going to tell me what I want to know. Or so help me God... I will kill you. A year and a half ago I was warned my life was in danger by someone within the government. And I was told the only was I could stay alive was to create the illusion that I was dead. I was forced to deceive people that I loved. My only daughter will never forgive me. As I see the depth of your corruption unfold I have no doubt that you are that source of danger. David Palmer was a great man, and he was a great president. But he was also my friend. He tried to warn me about you, and now he is dead. Other people tried to help me, and they are dead too. So Mr. Logan I hope you understand... I have absolutely nothing to lose. You are going to be held accountable for your part of everything that happened today. You are not going to be able to hide behind the presidency. Right here, right now, you are going to face justice! And make no mistake about this - this is personal. And if you think for a second that I am scared to put a bullet in your brain... you don't know me. - Jack Bauer
Best scene ever, because of that piece of text. It was soo damn good, I loved it!

Note: I made the text non-visible because I thought we could only post about s1 - 4 in here, so I just didn't want to have any problems with spoilers.
